Biography

 

studied oboe, among others, with Prof. I. Goritzki.

 

In his youth he received several awards at the national level of „Jugend musiziert“, as well as a cultural prize from the city of Aachen.

 

Important moments in his musical career include solo concerti in Germany and internationally, performances with well-known orchestras such as the Gürzenich-orchestra in Cologne and WDR Rundfunksinfonieorchester Cologne, as well as many appearances as a chamber musician.

 

He has taught oboe and chamber music from 2001 to 2010 at the Musikhochschule Köln. In addition, 2009 saw his appointment as Professor for oboe at the “Maastricht Academy of Music Zuyd University“ and since 2010 he is teaching at the "Landesmusikgymnasium Montabaur". 

 

In addition to his teaching and performing responsibilities, he has conducted the repair workshop “The Oboe” (www.die-oboe.de) since 1996, which attracts customers from all over the world. He has also written two books: “The Oboe Doctor” and the oboe tutorial “oboenbasis”, in german and english language, "fagottbasis", "Oboenschule Band 1" and Oboenschule Band 2", Basic Technique for Oboe Vol. 1 and 2, Test Pieces for Orchestral Auditions in the musical context for Oboe and Cor Anglais.. 

 

He also gives regular master classes and workshops for oboe performance, reed-making, and instrument making in countries such as Autrich, Germany, Romania, Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Korea, Sweden, Luxembourg, Israel, United States of America ...
